College Arts Program Survey (CAPS)

The New York State Alliance for Arts Education (NYSAAE) is working with the New York State Education Department (NYSED) to conduct a Survey of Higher Education Providers of Degrees in Fine and Applied Arts. The purpose of the survey is to develop a compendium of resources available to New York State high school students considering pursuing a degree in the Arts. At present, there is no comprehensive, searchable listing of all fine and performing arts programs in the State. This compendium will also provide high school counselors, teachers and administrators, and libraries with the tools they need to help students exploring higher education in the arts fields.

This page provides representative from NYS Higher Education Institutions that are participating in the survey for the development of the Directory of Colleges and Universities in New York State Providing Complete Programs in Art, Music, Dance & Theatre with details and updates on the project.

The deadline to enter responses into the online form is
Monday, July 19th at midnight.

UPDATES

Acomplete listing of the schools which were issued complete information packets is available - click here. According the the NYSED Inventory of Registered Programs, these schools offer one or more degree bearing programs in the Fine & Applied Arts.
If your school offers a degree bearing program in fine and applied arts, and does not appear on this list - please contact the NYSAAE office so that we can provide you with the details necessary for your participation.

Our online survey system was not able to support the size of a drop-down style menu of program titles. For that reason please click here for a complete list of programs (as they appear in the Inventory of Registered Programs).
